Information We DO NOT Collect

Ghost Scrubber is designed with privacy as the core principle:

• No image uploads: All photos you edit remain on your device. We never upload, transmit, or store your images on our servers.
• No text data collection: Your custom 'Private List' (containing names, emails, or numbers you wish to redact) is stored exclusively in your device's secure local storage. We have no access to this list.
• No face biometric data: Face detection happens entirely on-device using your phone's built-in capabilities. No facial recognition data is collected, stored, or transmitted.
• No personal information: We do not collect names, email addresses, phone numbers, or any personally identifiable information.
• No usage tracking: We do not track how you use the app, which features you access, or what content you process.
• No location data: We do not access or collect your device location.

Information We May Collect

• Purchase information: When you buy the app through the App Store (iOS) or Google Play Store (Android), Apple/Google processes your payment. We receive only a confirmation that the purchase was completed, no payment card details or personal information.
• Crash reports (optional): If you opt in to system-level crash reporting through iOS/Android settings, anonymous technical data about app crashes may be sent to help us fix bugs. This data contains no photos, text, or personal content.

Permissions We Request

• Photo Library to access images you explicitly select for processing. We do not access any photos without your direct action.
• Camera to capture a photo directly for processing. Captured photos are processed on-device and never uploaded.

Third-Party Services

• Apple App Store / Google Play Store: For app distribution and payment processing. We receive only a purchase confirmation; no payment details are shared with us.
• Google ML Kit (on-device only): For text recognition and face detection. ML Kit runs entirely on your device and does not send any data to Google's servers.

Ghost Scrubber does not integrate any third-party analytics, advertising, or tracking services. The app operates completely independently on your device.

The only third parties involved are Apple App Store / Google Play Store for app distribution and payment processing (governed by their respective privacy policies).

Data Security

Since all processing happens on your device:

• Your edited images are saved only to your device's local storage or photo library
• You control where files are saved and whether to share them
• Standard iOS/Android security protections apply (device encryption, passcode/biometric locks)

How Your Images Are Processed

Since all processing happens on your device:

• When you process an image, either in the main app or via the iOS Share Extension, the app performs on-device optical character recognition (OCR) to identify text and face detection to locate faces. This processing occurs entirely in memory on your device. No image, recognized text, or face data is ever stored beyond your session or transmitted anywhere.
• The Share Extension receives images shared from other apps (Photos, Mail, etc.) and processes them under the same rules as the main app. It retains nothing after you close it.
• Your redaction list and purchase/trial status are stored in iOS App Group storage and your device's Keychain. This data never leaves your device. Note: Keychain data on iOS persists across app reinstalls, this is intentional to protect trial integrity.

Children's Privacy

This app is not directed to children under 13 years of age, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. Since Ghost Scrubber collects no personal data from anyone, there is no risk to children's privacy. If you are a parent or guardian with concerns, please contact us at ghostscrubber@gmail.com.

Your Rights

Since we collect no personal data, there is no data to access, modify, or delete from our systems. All content remains under your control on your device.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted within the app and on our website with an updated "Last Updated" date.
